Small and medium enterprise players from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore gathered in Batam, Riau Islands, on Saturday in a bid to develop possible business partnerships.
“This is a good opportunity for the players to get to know each other and develop business opportunities among them,” Riau Island head of economic development Syamsul Bahrum said in Batam as quoted by Antara news agency.
A business gathering was important to increase economic activities among the three countries ahead of the Asean Economic Community (AEC), which is slated to be implemented at the end of this year, Syamsul said. “This gathering is the embryo of future cooperation among players from the three nations,” he explained.
